Feel free to post issues, ideas and questions in the comments!
P.S. On Windows this font will be corrupted and would not install. This problem also occures in some other fonts with many characters in them.
You still can use this font as a file for some programs.
Updates:
Added Kana Extended and Kanbun
Recreation of the pixel font from Irem's "Kaiketsu Yancha Maru 2: Karakuri Land" (1991) on the NES.
Despite being a Japan-only release, the game only has a partial/incomplete set of hiragana, and only a handful of katakana characters.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
Constructed script for a conlang (5x5 version). Katakana keyboard setting required to use.
人工文字は人工言語を為(5x5バージョン)。カタカナキーボード設定は所要に使う。
Pretty much abandoned currently. Do with whatever you will.
Just please give credit, lest the effort go in vein.
This font is also an etude.
角 (pronounced "kaku" in Japanese) means edge.
This is a clone of Kana Komichi ver.1.0Recreation of the pixel font from Sega's "Hokuto no Ken - Shin Seikimatsu Kyūseishu Densetsu" (aka "Hokuto No Ken II", 1989) on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.
The game was released in the west as "Last Battle: Legend of the Final Hero", but without the original "Fist of the North Star" license, and with many gameplay aspects (most notably, character names and the level of gore) changed.
Note that this version only includes the punctuation marks used in the original Japanese game. For the western release, a different set was used.
The font includes an almost complete set of hiragana and katakana characters. Some of the core katakana characters were missing, so I added them from similar more complete fonts. In the tile set, the dakuten and handakuten are separate tiles, positioned next to their respective character. In this recreation, characters that use them are pre-combined into a single glyph.
With the exception of the handful of extra katakana glyphs, only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
Recreation of the pixel font from Jaleco's "Legend of Makai" (aka "Makai Densetsu", 1988).
This recreation includes a practically complete set of hiragana and katakana. In the original, the dakuten and handakuten are separate characters on a separate line of text - in this recreation, they have been included in their respective characters, which results in the overall line height being 11 pixels rather than 8 pixels.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
The Official Level Font, supporting glyphs from many Unicode blocks, including several alternate glyphs
11/16/2018 - Coming soon, KANJI!
Lost in Japan is a font with that curious type of feel. The name makes sense when I spell it out below.
LOST - Very confusing, yet cool.
IN - Really?
JAPAN - Cointains all Hiragana/Katakana characters.
Recreation of the pixel font from Banpresto's "Masked Riders Club: Battle Race" (1993).
The font includes an almost complete set of hiragana characters. In the tile set, the dakuten and handakuten are separate tiles, positioned next to their respective character. In this recreation, characters that use them are pre-combined into a single glyph.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
I was annoyed that there was really no good recreation of the Minecraft font. So I made one and added some stuff like Hiragana and Katakana. :)
Recreation of the main monospaced pixel font from Ape Inc./Hal Laboratory's "Mother 2: Gīgu no Gyakushū" ("MOTHER2ギーグの逆襲", 1994) on the Super Famicom/SNES.
This is notably different from the proportional font used in the western release, EarthBound.
The font includes an almost complete set of hiragana and katakana characters.
Note the superscript double zeroes have been mapped to the em dash (U+2015).
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
MrGoogleUSMWOStruct is a Minecraft-like or Fixedsys-like font
