This is one of two typefaces that I have created in response to a brief set in my first term studying Graphic Design at UWE Bristol. My chosen theme for the six week project was decay. I decided to creat two fonts, an original and a decayed version. I took inspiration from graffiti and tagging that I photographed around the streets of Bristol. 'Spray' is my interpretation of the spray painted letter forms that crowd the walls of this city. www.jenniferlouisejohnson.tumblr.com

Blocks first attempt. I might pimp it up a little to make it better (especially punctuation)

This is the second of two typefaces that I have created in response to a brief set in my first term studying Graphic Design at UWE Bristol. My chosen theme for the six week project was decay. I decided to create two fonts, an original and a decayed version. I took inspiration from photos I took of graffiti and tagging around Bristol. For this specific font I was inspired by the way graffiti changes and breaks down over time. 'Decayed Spray' is my interpretation of the spray painted letter forms that crowd the walls of this city... after weather and humans have done their thing for a fair few years. www.jenniferlouisejohnson.tumblr.com This is a clone of spray

Monospaced typeface designed for my first year project at UWE. The main theme of the font was developed by looking at decaying buildings and structures as well as graffiti artwork.

This font was created around the theme of Chaos. The word Chaos instantly reminded me of a big, busy city. I took inspiration from shapes and forms and current works of as such as graffiti. Graffiti inspired me greatly due to the distinctive look and the uniqueness each piece of graffiti art holds. I manipulated my findings and research to construct my own alphabet in this style.

This font was created with the intent to simulate some liquid ink on a paper, and writing it down with a brush.

This is the font I created as a graphic design student at UWE, it is based on the themes messy and disintegrate.
The letterforms are based on Federico Landini's font Excellens but with something more.
The idea behind this font was to recreate Excellens font but in a new and more disintegrated way.
To create it I first rebuilt the basic letterforms on fonstruct, which I then started dismantling different size triangular sections, but still keeping the letters legible. I then also added the triangular sections next to the letters in order to create a sense of disintegration and movement.
The font is designed to be used selectively and not for large pieces of text.
Caprine is based on roller graffiti you can see in virtually any urban area. The straight and rigid lines and angles, along with the thick drop shadows make the face a real crowd pleaser.
