[Version 2.1]: Added "More Latin" Character Set.
[Version 2]: Fixed differences between the real font (from the NES or arcades) and the original (by me).
NES/Arcade Font.
This is a clone of NES/Arcade Font MonospaceIMPORTANT NOTE: THIS FONT IS NO LONGER BEING WORKED ON. I HAVE A BIGGER FONT TO WORK ON FOR THE TIME BEING.
YOU ARE FREE TO CLONE AND FINISH THIS FONT IF YOU WANT.
Finally done. Phew! It took two days to make this. This is a full collection of 5×7 Dot Matrix characters as seen on many devices, like Texas Instruments calculators. A lot of these are custom. Sources include TI-83, TI-86, TI-89, Casio Monochrome Graphing Calculators, Casio fx-115ES PLUS, and the rest, I created them myself. I included fractions for those themes on Microsoft Office don't have matching "1/3" and other fractions with the "1/4", "1/2", and "3/4". The fullwidth characters are substitutes for the other characters in the regular style, such as the math "x" and "y" from Casio.
Please note that character sets like Arabic and some Math Operators are beyond 5×7 pixels. If you want to know why? Because Arabic is very big and if I put it all in 5×7 pixels, the text will look weird, won't really fit inside, and there would be no point to it. I left it as is. Roman Numerals cannot fit if you were doing the "VIII" character, for example.
Enjoy!
8/28/2019: Font created.
1/7/2020: Added characters in the following form: Fullwidth and Halfwidth are used for making TI-73 Explorer characters, plus actual monospace setting characters. Note that Runic, Tagalog, and Hanunoo are replaced with character variants. The last variation of a character is from Minecraft's font. The fractions are also changed to level the line spacing. The wide "M" is never ever for use on Monospacing.
1/8/2020: More variations are added, extended to replace Buhid. I also added other math symbols and more. To type x̄, press unicode shortcut and type 01b2. To type ȳ, press unicode shortcut and type 01b3. I also added over a hundred, or two hundred, more characters to stock up on the font. Oh and I changed the filters to separate the pixels for a more pixel and retro look. Also fixed the spacing on the "Щ" character.
9/8/2020: Added a bunch of more characters to the font set.
8/25/2023: fixed the license so that the download works now.
Here is my rendition of the Taiogeuna alphabet featured on Omniglot. I was able to create a glyph for every character in the "Basic Latin" pack which eliminates the need for any accented letters (as my other fonts commonly use), please refer to the chart below for the un-transliteratable characters. I hope you enjoy. :D
AE = a (only lowercase)
EO = e (only lowercase)
AI = i (only lowercase)
OI = o (only lowercase)
UE = u (only lowercase)
CH = Q
DH = B
PH = F
SH = X
TH = K
ZH = J
Start of Sentence = ,
Double Vowel = *
Start of Line = #
Added some latin characters missing in the source font from Patrick Lauke (redux)
This is a clone of Shovel Knight (Extended)The base font from the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game Beyond Oasis (AKA The Story of Thor). It's another straight glyph dump with my usual additions of smart quotes and inverted ? and ! symbols; an @ sign (not found in the actual game) has also been added based on the game's copyright symbol.
Enjoy!
GOSPEL ANGLOS
A insular half-uncial or insular majuscule script style typeface project that is inspired by ancient celtic bookhand & manuscripts.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The project is aiming at solidifying a number of different insular script styles. The main goal is to create a single typeface that includes about everything required to replicate the decorative writing style seen in ancient celtic manuscripts.(except for the ornamental decoratives)
The font, though essentially a bi-linear or majuscule insular half-incial script, in reality is a combination of different styles and complementary lettersets. Each carefully designed for specific purpose.
For example, it includes a more decorative Anglo-Saxon-script capital letter, perfect for headline text or book bindings. These actually include a small number of short ascending / descending letters, but it remains mainly a majuscule. Then there is a complete insular style lowercase set, but which resembles a more traditional style lowercase letterform. And instead of being proportional sized, these reflect the cap-height, remaining faithful to the bi-linear nature of the script.
Besides all that, there is a set of glyph-alternates for most of the Anglo-Saxon capitals, as well as numerous random stylistic glyph alternates scattered througout some other various unicode blocks. Providing more than enough options to make variations.
To top it all off, I started making a set of more decorative lombardic initial letters, perfect for decorating paragraphs.
(This remains a WIP for now, as I am still experimenting aound with different styles and bits to narrow down the right one that suits this total package)
I like how some of these characters turned out, but many are jiust ideas and not yet reached their definitive forms. But this set proved a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. So,
Any suggestions helping me to complete the full set are very much welcome..
The major recources and guidelines for the creation of this project mainly evolved around the two medieval celtic manuscripts:
"Book of kells" and "Liɴdisfarne Gospels"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
It has grown quite a bit already so far, but remains a WIP.
So beware of very little overall polishing or kerning.
The overall design has quite some rough character, even more so with the insular lowercase set, that obviously was not aimed at smooth edges. Actually the oposite, sort of trying to replicate that rough look seen with many scribes from that era.
But I would love to hear your opinions (or suggestions for that matter) on the work so far. I can really use a little refreshing vibes for this at this point.
;)
Cheers.
Name is a pun and a work-in-progress.

Recreaction of the in-game font from Koei's strategy games Nobunaga's Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This includes a basic (but slightly incomplete) set of hiragana and katakana glypns. Aside from my usual inclusion of smart quotes and inverted ! and ?, this is a straight glyph dump.
