Recreation of the pixel font from Quintet/Enix's "ActRaiser" (1990) on the SNES.
This font includes a full set of hiragana and katakana characters. In the tile set, the dakuten and handakuten are separate tiles, positioned on the line above the character they relate to. In this recreation, these characters are pre-combined into a single glyph.
The japanese version of this game features subtly different punctuation. This recreation only includes the punctuation marks from the western release.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
Recreation of the latin pixel font from Wolf Team's "Arcus Odyssey" (aka "Arcus Spirits", 1991).
The alphanumeric characters are the same as Wolf Team's "Granada" (1990), but with different punctuation and special characters. The font remained the same between the original (on the Sharp x68000) and subsequent ports to the Super Famicom and the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set (on the Super Famicom) have been included.
Recreation of the pixel font from Konami's "Axelay" (1992) on the SNES.
Note the small triangle (U+00B7 'middot'), large triangle (U+2022 'bullet') and black circle (U+26AB).
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
Recreation of the pixel font from Atlus' port of "BlaZeon: The Bio-Cyborg Challenge" (1992) on the SNES.
Compared to the arcade version, the port has a complete lowercase and additional punctuation and special characters, though neither are used in the game itself (and the port does not have any end credits, where the arcade version used the lowercase). Note that the lowercase characters with descenders ("g", "j", "p", "q", "y") are inexplicably moved down by 1px, and the "l" is one pixel taller than in the arcade version.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
This is a clone of BlaZeonRecreation of the pixel font from GameTek's "Brutal: Paws of Fury" (1994) on the SNES.
Note the "yin yang" symbol (U+262F) and the partial set of accented characters.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
Recreation of the large pixel font from Konami's "Castlevania: Dracula X" (aka "Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss", "Akumajō Dracula XX", 1995) on the SNES.
This recreation uses the special TTF+SVG format, which currently has limited support. For a monochrome version, see this recreation.

Exactly the same as Konami's "Biker Mice from Mars" (1994), but with an additional "®" registered sign. Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

A thin proportional font, based on the title sequence of the Bitmap Brothers' "Chaos Engine" (1993).
Designed to be used aliased at a size of 9px (or multiples thereof).
Originally created in 2004 based on the Amiga version, and extended in 2012. Repackaged in 2022, with a small tweak to the exclamation, question, and quote marks, and the addition of the ampersand from the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and SNES versions.
Last (hopefully) final tweaks now 27/08/2022, fixing the "G", "V", "X", "1", "9", adding a copyright symbol, and tweaking the spacing and vertical position of some of the punctuation marks, referencing the SNES version some more.
A thin proportional font, based on the upgrade shop in Bitmap Brothers' "Chaos Engine" (1993) on the Amiga, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, and SNES.
In the game, this font uses antialiasing, and is used both as a monospaced and proportional font. This recreation simplifies the shapes, omits the antialiasing, and keeps it as a purely proportional font.
Only the characters used in game/present in the console games' tile set have been included.
ChronoType is not the first recreation of the original Chrono Trigger font on the web, but certainly the most accurate and comprehensive you'll find.
The font is based on the complete set of the game's official and fan-translated characters and thus also features the Japanese hiragana and katakana alphabets as well as Cyrillic and Greek letters, countless additional stuff like special characters, unique glyphs, and whatnot.
The base font size and recommended setting for ChronoType is 16pt and multiples of that. Use metric kerning and no additional smoothing effects for the ultimate Chrono Trigger experience.
Chrono Trigger on the SNES was developed and published by Square in 1995.
~ ChronoType - created by Caveras after the original main text font used in Chrono Trigger for the SNES. ~
Recreation of the pixel font from Konami's "Contra III: The Alien Wars" (1992) on the SNES.
Note the "V" and "W", which are shifted up by one pixel and short, and the inconsistent weight of some of the characters.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

Recreation of the main proportional pixel font from Ape Inc./Hal Laboratory's "EarthBound" (1994) on the SNES.
Note the superscript double zeroes have been mapped to "horizontal ellipsis" (U+2026).

I used Tile Molester (I didn't name it that way!) and extracted the Earthbound and Mother 2 font (English ROM and Japanese ROM) that was used in the game's menu and tried to combine and insert them here myself. (I used the Earthbound's Latin instead of Mother 2's bolder one, because most recognize it that way)
I've added a few hundred more glyphs to it, hoping this may come in handy for some fans out there. ^^ I'll add more languages (maybe use all the glyphs available) if you request it, otherwise, I'll only leave it at 878 glyphs. ;D
This font includes:
- Basic Latin
- More Latin
- Extended Latin A
- Extended Latin B
- Katakana
- Hiragana
- Greek and Coptic
To reference the game a little more... Katakana Middle Dot, More Latin's Middle Dot, and More Latin's Bullet are actually the middle dots that you see in the Japanese and English character naming screen, respectively. ^^
I don't have status conditions and the battle font in here, because it's pretty much its own font and I honestly can't find it in the game's file for some reason... (no clue what settings to use see those)
Recreation of the pixel font from Software Creations/Sony Imagesoft's "Equinox" (aka "Solstice II", 1994). This font includes an almost complete set of hiragana and katakana characters. Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
