Some time after I decided to unleash Pixelbabania VI Deluxe onto the world, I deemed it appropriate to also create a light version to go alongside it. Had a good bit of fun making sure things looked right with this font, which also explains why I decided to fix its sister font while I was at it.
Here it is, at last. And just in time for the start of a new season, wherever in the world you all are.
4/12/2023 : Fixed up a few more glyphs of Box Drawing to make them work proper with their fellow glyphs.
A very quick & dirt job prompted by this thread on Typophile.
Just to test out the font contructor, and being unable to find exactly what I needed, I decided to try my hand at the younger futhark!
Capital letters are the long-stave runes, while the lowercase letters are the short-twig runes. They were generally not used simultaneously, so pick one system and stick to it.
There are many repeated glyphs, and this is because of how the system works; there are several closely-related sounds that share a rune. K/G, F/V, B/P, to name a few. (and don't get me started on the vowels)
I tried to match the latin letters you're typing to whatever rune most closely corresponds to it... from a norse point of view? As these writing systems are not a 1-1 match, it won't be 100% accurate all the time, and I'm also an amateur hobbyist from Norway, but I tried my best with what I knew.
For example, while I used ár (ᛅ/ᛆ) for E due to its usage in the [ei] diphtong (eg. in names like Einar (ᛅᛁᚾᛅᚱ)), it has really no rune on its own, and can also be written with íss, the I rune.
Compatible with most extra letters used in Scandinavian languages and Old Norse, and not really meant for writing in modern English, where nothing is consistent at all.
Update, Oct. 3rd: Fixed the lǫgr (ᛚ) rune. It is no longer mirrored. Not sure how I managed to make that glaring error, and I apologise to the thirty people who already downloaded this.
I took a look at the very first font I published and looking back at it now, I couldn't help but think I could have done better and gone much further with it. Having learned a few things along the way when I was working on the light version of Pixelbabania, I decided to invest some time into working on a much improved version of Pixelbabania VI, while once again following a self-imposed limitation. This time, I decided to go with 6x9 (with some exceptions) to allow a bit more wriggle room and to make characters with accents much nicer, and even decided to change up some of the characters to improve their look. Not only this, I decided I'd try and see if it was possible to add more characters from other sets and thus far, it had gone quite nicely.
After so much time on and off, now I share with you the fruits of my labor and love.
Note: I have done what I could to get N'ko and to a lesser extent Adlam to play nice; unfortunately I could not get the tone marks to actually just go above or below the characters properly, therefore they will take residence right next to the character, taking up another space. Apologies for any inconvenience caused to those who type in those languages.

The script of the gods. Produced for the project Sephira Tale: Reclaiming the Light. Inspired by Anglo-Saxon Runes and the Ethiopian Ge'ez script.
Here are some notes on the orthography:
'C' is mapped to the /x/ or /ç/ sound, the voiceless velar fricative.
'Q' is mapped to /tʃ/, the voiceless postalveolar affricate.
'X' is mapped to /ʃ/, the voiceless postalveolar fricative.
The voiceless dental fricative /θ/, as in 'thorn' is mapped to the letter that appears when you enter 'þ'.
The voiced dental fricative /ð/, as in 'the' is mapped to the letter that appears when you type 'ð'.
Optionally the 'D' or 'Z' can also be mapped to this sound in some contexts.
The cluster 'tion' that appears at the end of words can be rewritten as 'xun'.
When writing for the 'qu' cluster, use 'kw', 'ku' or 'kv' instead.
