Solace in Geometry.
This is a clone of Voxelstorm Nano 02Dornach is a town/village in Switzerland where I'm on a family visit right now. It's very quite here, with lovely people who always greet me, asian looking guy, with smile ). The "o" was created not long after LoveComp's announcement, but it's here, in Dornach, with some spare time in my hand, I could finally find consistent development for it. A LoveComp entry #2 that's still in progress, other letters and samples will hopefully come soon. Thanks & Enjoy!
Here's what not to do:
--Start an easy fontstruction to pretend you don't have time to do research assignment due last month
--Draw lowercase letters
--Change all letters to have slightly more personality
--Draw uppercase
--Change all lowercase to match the uppercase
--Draw numbers
--Change all uppercase to match numbers
--Change one letter so that it makes better auto-ligature
--Change all letters to have less personality
At this point, who knows how much time has been sunk into doing this "easy" fs and what it started out as. And unoriginal to boot. Forget it. Next!
This font was inspired by the works of Christophe Szpajdel (Lord of the Logos, 2010, Die Gestalten Verlag), as well as by the film trilogy and the following game titles (e.g. Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, 2014) based on Tolkien's epic masterpiece, The Lord of the Rings. Given the game theme, and the 48 bricks vertical limit, I thought more or less around pixel art, or pixel fonts. This is my endeavour to make a spiky blackletter in Szpajdel's black metal style that evokes the terror of Mordor at pixel level. This font has been extensively tested for best kerning, yet some issues might have remained unresolved.
