This is a Font inspired by the Art Deco movement. The theme for this idea is "Elegant". I decided not to do the traditional elegant that is mostly made from curves and more thick lines. My font is more of a "man elegant" style. I was inspired by the thin and simple lines from the art deco time that are very elegant but at the same time they show "power".
Inspired by the starting point 'elegant' , this font was developed looking at the structure of constellations, and how a number of different points can be interpreted into images. The fine, interconnected lines of the typeface reflect the delicate and subtle connotations of the word 'elegant', and it is designed to be used as a display face. the name 'Cassiopeia' is taken from an existing constellation, initially listed in the 2nd century.
Mandeljot is the idea of simplicity. What you are looking for is deeper, it doesn’t just appear upon the surface. The font being based upon a basic San Serif type only enhances the real fluidity of the fractal. There’s a series of repetition within the letters, at a glance it is hard to understand want the font is trying to portray or connected to. Nature, diversity, humanity or even practicality. The ability to glare and focus on the question of the font is the importance, it’s elegant yet so real. With flourishes being created through shading. The form of it being fractals makes it look delicate. It’s meant to represent something within everyday life that is “Beautiful, damn hard, useful’ design. Mandelbrot should be used within Nature/Technology/Sound/Structures/Art/Law.

When I decided to go with the theme ‘Elegant’ for this project I knew that my font must be simplistic, I considered what elegance meant to me personally and came up with the following words, modesty, simplicity and nature. I wanted this font to reflect all of these aspects so I created the tall letters to mimic trees in a forest and simplified each letter to keep it clean, modern and modest.
My new typeface 'Coup de ruban' represents the beauty of human movement through interpretive dance. I decided to name my elegant font 'ribbon stroke', but in French, as French is seen as a beautiful language. The thin, curved flourishes follow the movements of the dancer Megan Batoon's hands and feet when dancing to her own choreography. The thick strokes represent ballerina ribbon which ground the flourishes to create a bold, yet elegant display font. -Sam
I have many clones of the basic version of Caractère, with different line thickness and with different arragements of diacritics and decoration elements. This is a version with many elegant decorative lines-swirls.
