This is from SEGA's Up 'n' Down, this was also used in early Sega System 1's game, with different variations of the letters. This font actually debuted in a 1982 game from Sega called "Subroc-3D", and also appeared in "Buck Rogers - Planet of Zoom", "Star Jacker" and "Regulus".
Recreation of the pixel font from Atari's "Cops'n Robbers" (1976). Very similar to Atari's "Night Driver" (1976), but note the difference in the "C".
This font appears to have been "borrowed" by a few subsequent games of the era, such as Exidy's "Car Polo" (1977). Note the strangely small "4".

The letters are used exclusively for the highscore name entry (while the highscore list itself then uses the main font). While some characters are the same, the majority show slight differences to the primary font.The number characters appear to be unused in the game itself.
