Recreation of the pixel font from Dan Lee/Stern Electronics' "Lost Tomb" (1982).

Note that the game seems to use unusually stretched 24x8 tiles, which are then stretched horizontally for a more traditional square appearance. In this recreation the characters have been normalised to a traditional 8x8 grid.

Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

Recreation of the pixel font from Konami's "Loco-Motion" (aka "Guttang Gottong", 1982).

This recreation includes the arrows, which in the actual ROM are split over separate tiles. Apart from those, only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

          Recreation of the built-in font found in the old Thomson line of 8-bit computers (Thomson MO5, MO5E, MO5NR, MO6, T9000, TO7, TO7/70, TO8, TO8D, TO9, TO9+ and Olivetti Prodest PC128).

This recreation combines the character sets found in the various localised versions. A few accented characters have been added to make the set more complete, but note that there are no acute/grave/circumflex accent versions for uppercase letters.

Apart from that, only the characters present in the original font (that I could find through emulation) have been included.

Recreation of the pixel font from Nintendo's "Donkey Kong Classics" (1988) on the NES, which combines the fonts from "Donkey Kong" (1981) and "Donkey Kong Jr." (1982).

The one distinctive feature of this font are the "G" and the exclamation mark. Note that in the original "Donkey Kong" (1981) the period/full stop and the ".," (mapped here to the ";") were one pixel higher than in the "Classics" version. In addition, this recreation includes the maths symbols ("+", "-", "×", "÷") from "Donkey Kong Jr. Math" (1983). "Donkey Kong Jr. Math" and "Donkey Kong 3" (1983) also used this same font, except they changed the "8".

Other than the additions of the maths symbols, only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

This was used in one of Jaleco's early games Naughty Boy and Pop Flamer made in 1982. This font would make another appearance in Jaleco's Chameleon made in 1983.

Recreation of the small pixel font used in Williams Electronics' "Splat" (1982). This font is similar to the one used in "Stargate" (1981), but has notable differences in the "e", "f", "i", "q", "1", "3", "7" and overall punctuation. Only the characters used in the game have been included.

Recreation of the unusual 7x7 large pixel font used in Taito's "Qix" (1981) and "Qix II - Tournament" (1982). Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included. The German and French version of the game feature language-specific characters, but these have not been included since they were technically constructed from two separate characters on two subsequent lines.

Recreation of the unusual 5x5 small pixel font used in Taito's "Qix" (1981) and "Qix II - Tournament" (1982). Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included. The German and French version of the game feature language-specific characters, but these have not been included since they were technically constructed from two separate characters on two subsequent lines.

Combined and expanded version of the pixel font used in most Exidy games - notably "Mouse Trap" (1981), "Teeter Torture" (1982), "Catch-22"/"Combat" (1985), "Crackshot" (1985), "Chiller" (1986), "Top Secret" (1986), "Hit 'n Miss" (1987), "Showdown" (1988) and "Who Dunit" (1988). A few characters (in particular the lowercase and some punctuation) have been tweaked for better kerning.

Recreation of the classic Taito pixel font used in early games like Space Cruiser (1981), Alpine Ski (1982), Birdie King (1982), Front Line (1982), Jungle King (1982), Wild Western (1982) and Elevator Action (1983). Note the spaceship icon, which has been mapped to the "airplane" dingbat (U+2708).

Recreation of the pixel font used in the classic Gottlieb arcade game "Q*bert" (1982). This is the original version, which only includes the characters used in the game, the numerals shifted one pixel below the letters, and the unusually thick parentheses.

A recreation of the pixel font used in Williams Electronics' "Joust" (1982) and "Joust 2" (1986) arcade games, with a few custom characters added to make it more useful - including a set of arrows based on the "delete" left arrow from the hiscore entry screen. I took the liberty of modifying the overly chunky colon from the original, bringing it in line with the rest of the characters.

Note the heart icon, which is mapped to the "black heart" (U+2665) unicode point. UPDATED to include the more correct @ symbol and to remap the heart icon from * to unicode point.

Another pixel font inspired by the Williams Electronics classic arcade game "Robotron 2084" (1982). This one was used for smaller, incidental on-screen messages. The same font was reused for one of the sequels, "Blaster" (1983). Designed to be used aliased at a size of 8 pixels (or multiples thereof).
