A remastered version of the classic lettering by "Theo Van Doesburg" for avant garde architectural magazine "De Stijl".
So, rather than a replica of the original, this is a 2018 view of the classic letters. It still follows the global contour of the original letters but instead of being stenciled it features solid glyphs.
This Fontstruction is a joint venture between Dmitriy Sychiov and myself, Sed4tives.
A while ago I had the concept basic forms for this design pre-published in an effort to try and reach out to y'all, asking if any of you was interested in joining me in this attempt to create a multi member community collaboration.
The original idea had I invisioned at that time was; presumptuous that most writing systems have two parallel sets of letters that can be used to distinguish between upper- and lowercase. That hypothetically could than be divided in two separate "Half-A-Bets"(oopz, lol). One one for upper- and a second for lowercase. Allowing two Fontstructors to each choose their own designated section within that specific language. But enthusiasm quickly reached critical mass, making a mild gesture go ballistic and somehow sketched this crazy wild idea of having multiple participating parties that each reserved one-half of a language within one of the several designated ranges for the Basic Multilingual Planes (preferably within their native writing system if possible), and in turns to each have them supply the glyph set for their section.
Oh, and "Sweet mother of a blind gekko", boy what was I wrong, as eventually only one Die-Hard going by the name Dmitriy hooked up with the project in the end.
So hereby I proudly present the results of this combined forces:
"Gesamtkunstwerk" — A Futuristic sci-fi stencil sans
The philosophy behind the FontStruction was to publish the completed font with open font license (so that it is clonable). Feel free to redistribute/share, clone, learn or even refurbish mash-up and re-publish your version.
— [The original collaborative project is now closed for any new participating parties, sorry!]
Some small things still need additional work, such as kerning (which is incomplete and remains a WIP for now), Cyriillic script still missing uppercase set. All of this is scheduled to be included soon, so stay tuned..
hope y'all simply enjoy it so far nonetheless!
Cheers

What first started as a tryout to make entire glyphs within a single composite brick quickly got out of hand. lol
Each glyph was designed on a 2x2 grid by way of composite stacking. Lowercase and superscript characters are single brick composites.
Viewed in the fontstruct preview many glyphs do not show clean edges because I heavily made use of composite bricks and stacks on a small grid. However, these irregularities are not really present in the actual TrueType Font.
MILITIA - A bold geometric typeface inspired by the military.
It comes in 2 style variations (solid/stencil) and features uppercase plus small uppercase letters!
Enjoy!

=======================================================
This is a remastered and extended sequel to an pre-existing older design I did.
Now, the reason for this was due to the fact that there was a lot going on in the older version I simply just wasn't satisfied with.
=======================================================
This new and extended version includes an overall more streamlined and consistent design. Much improved and more balanced looking numerals.
Also have I corrected and added numerous punctuation marks, and, last but not least.. What truly changed this previously more of a lettering idea type design into a relative usable full font is, the introdiction of a simple and legible geometric lowercase string. Make the font far more suitable for body text.
The uppercase and numeral strings are a random mix of both normal open stroke-based geometric letterforms and stylistic filled letter-contours, that, when arranged like this making the uppercase character set look playful and slightly future-ish retro at first, yet a somewhat strangely ellegant sophistication that is ever so gently present. This could be used in isolation for a strong and convincing decorative headline text, or in conbination with the lowercase for a surprisingly readable an clean looking body text that has the occasional occurance of a decorative capital letter.
I hope you like it so far...

A recap of the lettering by "Fre Cohen". And as additional supplement I attempted to complete the entire alphabet plus some punctuations.
In loving memory of the great Dutch graphical designer Frederika Sophia (Fré) Cohen(August 11, 1903 – June 14, 1943).
Numerous single brick pattern fillers and connectors, ready for you to use/clone/copy/change and put into your own designs or whatever.
All patterns are designed to work as a selection fill. So in other words: the patterns will always look the same regardless of the dimensions of your selected area!
They come in a wide range of styles such as: Retro, Tile, Seemless, Textile, Composite, Glitch, Minimalism
All bricks are stored and saved in the custom brick pallet.
Enjoy!
A tribute to Belgian modernist artist "Jozef Peeters" (Antwerp, 1895 - 1960).
He is probably best known for contributions to legendary Belgian avant garde magazines "Het Overzicht" and "DeDriekhoek".
The alphabet I made is based on the letters seen on the folder art for his 1921 linocut portofolio.
(I made use of a couple of lower case letters to make slight variations similar as seen on the original artwork but most lower case are simply copied from the upper case letters.)
STF_PRÆSENS - A geometric retro display sans
The source for this font was the lettering seen on the cover of 1930's second issue of "Præsens". A Polish avant-garde artistic magazine from the interwar period that was designed by the architect Szymon Syrkus. The letters on the magazine's title formed the baseline to extrapolate the complete font.
The magazine got published throughout the first part of the previous century and was similar to other magazines from that same era such as:
DeStijl, Wendingen & Het Overzicht.
Corded modernist minimalism script typeface design.
It is trying to mimmic letters written with a bend metal wire or a chord.
It is only in lowercase letters at the moment no numerals and only very limited punctuations. But It is still very fun to play around with.
And my apologies for putting a sting of glyphs with only a line showing in the numeral block but I did this to make the pangram for the font show up in when viewed from the gallery
