Read as I read 2 is a typeface that I have developed from the previous design 'Read as I read'. With the same aim to capture the movement upon which the letters are distributed around the page caused by dyslexia. A feature common amongst dyslexics, that causes difficulty and uncertainty when trying to make out written words. In developing the typeface I aimed to increase legibility, to make it more universal. Whilst continuing to capture the context of why I initially created the typeface. Representing this by combining the same letter form twice, and overlayingthem in order to capture the aspect of movement. This time all in captials to help with legibility.
This typeface represents the theme of introversion. It was inspired by the idea of someone being hidden in some way, slightly removed from immediate view. I wanted to make sure not to aid in further enforcing the negative associations that go alongside the idea of introversion, so the typeface is in all capitals, to signify a bold personality being only slightly obscured from sight, in relation to an introvert’s aversion to social interactions.
A font made by request for a certain Augmented Reality Game.
It is a functional blueprint - not meant to be used as-is, but designed to be embellished. Color it in, put effects on it, or whatever else you want. In this way the font can remystify itself and achieve distinctive looks which require particular art techniques to reach.
