RIBCAGE.

This typeface has been made from the starting theme of 'Malnourished', from this I started to look intowhat it truley means to be malnourished and the people and places that are affected by this around the world. Through my research I looked at how the body is affected by malnutrition and being malnourished and saw when looking at images that it has a effect on the ribcage that is raher significant. From here I looked at the ribcage and how the bones fir together taking a few striking bones and using them to create letterforms. Each letterfrom ismade up of 2 or more ofthe bones that make up the ribcage that slot together in a simular way to that of the ribs.

This is a rough version of semaphore using a dancing figure. The position of the legs represent the position of the flags.

Designed as part of my university course, this font is based around the word 'squishy', taking inspiration from body forms, shapes and the creases which are created from these body types. Liyahu is a constructed language created by Xay Voong during the development of a role-playing video game. The core concepts are based on the trinity entities mind, body, and soul. The philosophy is elemental, rational, metaphysical, semantical, structural, straightforward, compact, and concise. Since the Liyahu alphabet has 36 letters, this font uses all 26 lowercase and 10 uppercase letters. It also contains all 10 digits, space, comma, and period. The percent sign shows the official Liyahu logo, with all trinity symbols in their proper places: mind at top, body at left, and soul at right.

The ultra-low resolution of this grid may be difficult to grasp without cloning. Fontstruct’s logo has a nominal x-height of 3 bricks, by comparison.

The level of detail, control, and finesse possible in a given fonstruction depended mostly on resolution prior to the recent advent of stackable composites. Did you want it better? Make it bigger!

Instead of building individual glyphs hundreds of bricks tall, stackable composites allow us to design rich modular schemata hundreds of bricks deep. Using curved bricks at their largest scale, linear and curvilinear elements dynamically harmonize and oppose. As well, screen fonts can be effectively hinted (aside from notable lack of kerning controls) without sacrificing the integrity of joins and intersections. And the trapping possibilities, Oh the sweet sweet trapping possibilities...
