Dana from GEOS, released in FontPack PLUS.  I was bored at work and knocked this out in about 30 minutes.  Full existing character set only.  Because it's tall and skinny, it doesn't really need kerning.  It's an inherent small-caps font.  Yeah, there's probably a readily available alternative as a smooth TTF out there, but this is for a bit of entertainment.

Well, it's been a while because I've run out of fonts I want to convert/build.  This one is LeConte from GEOS on the Commodore 64.  It is pretty much a clone of Susan Kare's Chicago for the Apple systems, so you can use it as a pixelly Apple font in your works.

Wouldn't have minded redoing this with curves, but decided on going with full retro pixelled corners, as that's my main schtick.

Evans, mathematical font from GEOS FontPack 1.  In case you want to write formulas.  Minor kerning, digits will fit comfortably under the square root's horizontal.

Here we go, another GEOS font, this time it's Ellsworth from FontPack PLUS.  Based on the 24 point version of the original.  Custom glyphs for @#$%&()[]\"<>_

Yet another GEOS font!  This is a recreation of Venetian from FontPack PLUS, which was a 24-point font.  It had its own inherent imperfections, some of them I fixed, others I haven't... decide for yourself if it's good or not.  I haven't kerned anything either.  Spacing was 4 pixels between characters in the original.

And why the name?  Venetian blinds!  I decided not to rename it "Venice" here because there's other fonts with that name.

There's a lot of horror and Hallowe'en themed fonts out there... here's another to join the plethora.  I liked this one back in the day for its adornment with bats, but when recreating it here in FontStruct I got an appreciation for how the pixels are randomly missing and look like a mummy's tattered rags.

The original didn't have much punctuation, I've added very little here - mainly quote marks and a dollar sign.  It'll be good for headlines and banners though, if you don't mind the pixellation :)

Next trick will be to make a glyph of the Ghostbusters logo to go into it, like I did with the Font Editor many years ago...

Derby, from GEOS by Berkeley Softworks

Stern from GEOS FontPack PLUS on the Commodore 64.  Script font with joins.  I haven't done more than basic kerning on this so it may be a bit "rough" in places.  Still, it's the full basic ASCII set, and it's easier to read than Mistral.

Bancroft, from GEOS Font Pack PLUS by Berkeley Softworks, for the Commodore 64.  Only the original's character set, which is missing a LOT.  Arial Black could learn a lot from this one, lol.

Boalt from GEOS FontPack 1 on the Commodore 64.

Apparently Boalt was so popular that it was included in FontPack PLUS too.  Personally, I didn't care much for Boalt.  It's heavy, wide, big serifs - not my kind of thing.  But without much else to create, and wanting to keep in the Fontstruct game, here it is.  Rescuing these fonts from obscurity is the main prize!

Flints is a font from GEOS FontPack PLUS on the Commodore 64.

Odd backward-leaning characters.  Kerning not quite right in places, any suggestions welcome.  I deliberate made the spacing 1 pixel looser than default, to try and match the original's feel.

Well, it's been a while, work has ramped up during this school term.  I never complain about that though.  I'd rather be busy with work I'm comfortable doing.  But I digress.

This font is Spruce, as seen in GEOS FontPack PLUS on the Commodore 64.  Not sure whether you'd call this stencilled or segmented.  It's got an odd set of descenders, and I've corrected some glyps so they're symmetrical top and bottom, even if that gives them ascenders.  This may not spruce up your font collection as such (groan)...

Lewis from GEOS FontPack PLUS for the Commodore 64.

Another Old West font... normally I don't care much for them, I never warmed to Playbill.  Lewis feels like it's got a bit more space - almost a cross between Playbill and Italian Print.

University font from GEOS for the Commodore 64.  This was one of the default fonts included with GEOS and GeoWrite.  I think it's based on one of Susan Kare's Mac fonts, can't remember which one.  Elegant and may even work its way back into regular use for me...

Spats, based on the original from GEOS FontPack PLUS on Commodore 64 by Berkeley Softworks.

This one took me a lot longer than usual.  Rather than just a straight pixel rendering, I used Fontstruct's diagonal blocks to make smoother glyphs.  What we have is a balance between the original's square letterforms and a modern take on the diagonal stripes.

The glyphs included are only what was in the original.  If it proves popular enough I'll do some more glyphs.

Channing from GEOS Font Pack 1 by Berkeley Softworks.

There are similar fonts around like Premi or Andes, but I've always preferred this one.  This was a morning quickie job.

Bubble - from FontPack 1 (and re-released in FontPack PLUS) for GEOS on the Commodore 64.  Basic 1980s outline font.  I'm hoping to remake as many GEOS fonts as I can that aren't readily-available typefaces.

I am proud to present FontKnox, one of the more popular fonts in GEOS on the Commodore 64.  I took a bit longer with this one but it was well worth it.  The font is meant to look kind of embossed and metallic, hence its original name.

As it's decorative, I've included only its original characters; I've used the bottom of the semicolon to make quotation marks.

One of the more eccentric fonts in GEOS on the Commodore 64 was Elmwood, released in FontPack 1.  This was the only font larger than 24 point, clocking in at 36.  Figuring it'd be a fairly easy challenge to port over to FontStruct, here it is.  (The Commodore charsets can become a bit repetitive after a while.)

Latimer.  Originally provided in GEOS FontPack PLUS.  Not one of my favourite fonts back in the day (i.e. when I was 13) but unique enough that it warrants a FontStruction.  And it seems to have brushed up pretty well.  I've added extra characters so it fills out the base ASCII set.

The original had some quirks: some letters didn't touch the baseline, some uneven glyphs, some below the baseline, lowercase all sat one pixel higher etc.  I've tried to correct for these.  Lower case letters J, S, U, T are all as originally set, whereas upper case are all corrected.

Sather was a font included in FontPack PLUS for GEOS on the Commodore 64.  Rather than pixellise it, I had a go at reconstructing its blocky glory.  I think it's come up quite well.

Etcheverry, a font from GEOS.  Named after Etcheverry Hall, UC Berkeley College of Engineering.

The upper case characters look like Glaser Stencil, but that was produced by URW++ in 1994.  Etcheverry was produced and included in GEOS' FontPack PLUS in 1987-88.  I wonder if they're both based on an older font?  I created this copy of Etcheverry because I wanted lower case characters, which Glaster Stencil doesn't have.

Cursive font by Berkeley Softworks (17 point).  Appeared in GEOS FontPack PLUS.  Failing to find a TrueType equivalent - couldn't find the right glyphs, especially the 'r' - I've created this version.  Only characters are standard ASCII set.  Some kerning needs work, but out of the box you'll get joined letters and running script.

Stadium, 24-point "banner" font from GEOS on the Commodore 64.  Suitable for headings.  The original is upper case only, 0-9, and limited punctuation.  I've made lower case identical to upper case, and added closing bars to the grave and pipe characters to achieve a couple of effects.

There was no direct TTF alternative to this one, I've been seeking it for a long time, now it's here :)
