Nice idea and well executed. Your second example shows the best side of the font.
The FontStruct previewer renders this pretty nicely at double pixel size, but not as much at pixel size. Pretty nice font nonetheless.
Also, the single angle quotation marks can be found in More Latin towards the end of the band (or in General Punctuation with Unicode sets turned on)
