This is zimmera without scratches, more usable for general purposes. Thanks to frongile for encouraging me to add it here. Hope you like it.
You're welcome @elmo!
I am also working on something similar...
Great work!
Nice and refreshing. I like both versions. The C with cedilla is too small. Don't be afraid of having descender space. Lovely special characters. This font could have been a very strong entry to HeavyComp. 10/10
PS.: How do you cope with the summer heat? My head is numb and my brain is slow. I could not manage to create anything useful in the last couple of weeks. What is your secret? Aircon? A cool cave?
@frongile: Waiting for your font.
@Yautja: Thanks a lot, querido!
@Dear Master Frodo7: Thank you very much once again for your always kind and appreciative comments. You are right about the cedilla, I must find a way to make it a little bigger and better. And yes, this was originally an attempt for the Comp, but I didn't have time to properly solve some design difficulties (the counters -which were narrower and then widened-, the connection between sides in U, n, a, and other letters, scratches, and a few other details), so it was left out, like some other font that you will see soon. My brain was only thinking in thick letters at the time.
About this especially hot summer: I live in an area where temperatures tend to be high every year at this time, so we're kind of used to having 35°C to 40°C for long periods (and worst of all, nights that do not drop below 29-30°C, I live very close to the only sub-desert in Europe, hehehe). What do we do? We are lucky that the beach is very close and it is always a lovely place to cool off. On top of that: staying hydrated, not going out during the hottest hours, vegetables and fruits at meals, breathable clothing and hats, that kind of thing, you know. I don't like aircon, I prefer fans, but there are times when you can't help but turn it on for a break. I remember that one of the hottest Julys I met on a vacation between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Street vendors of bottled water sheltered from the sun in doorways and the scant shadows of building ledges and mobbed you on shady corners! Eastern European countries are not used to this type of heat wave, so be sensible and protect yourself. Happy summer, Master. Winter is coming.
New Ç added.
I like the second, simplified C-with-cedilla version. It suits the font style better. Congratulations to the TP. Well done.
Congratz Elmo, definitely deserving the special mention, as this is a solid break-away from recent FS trends, very refreshing indeed as Frodo already said.
@meek: Thanks for this new pretty pink distinction, dear Boss!
@Frodo7: Thank you very much, Maestro! You can almost always find a way, if you insist.
@Sed4tives: Thanks a lot, pal! The hard part is finding fresh points of view to put forward here at FS. We will continue in it and we count on you to do it ;-)
@elmoyenique: FontStruct could always count on my font contributions for sure, but I can totally relate to what you're saying. There is such a huge amount of knowledge, technical expertise and creative thinking peresent in this small FS user-base, it can truly be a blessing and a curse alike. Luckily, on the upside of this curse we find nothing but additional stimulance and motivation for going that extra mile in pursuit of our next gem piece. I'm loving it.. B-)
Can't wait to see what your next great FontStruction will be
