Very nice combo of using the border and a drop shadow. You might want to go back and fill in some more darkened sides. the H, K, Q, U, T all need some details that would complete this looking flawless.

I completely redesigned the font at a larger grid size to improve symmetry and make every gap the same size as the others. I also realized it wasn't clear if the letters were "painted" on dark cubes or "carved" in them. I finally chose to consider they were carved, which makes more gaps but more consistency too. Other glyphs to come.

I used a checkerboard pattern to distinguish similar glyphs (Y and 4, B and 6, S and 5, Q and 9), and I brought it into general use for the digits. I also customized the ampersand the same way, because I thought I looked nice this way.
