@Sleuthgames - This is a nice Data 70 variant.  Is it from a particular game?

Comment by Goatmeal 18th December 2019

No, it's a recreation of a 8 bits Amstrad CPC font I did 30 years ago. But sure I was inspired by lettraset or some font catalog I own on this era. Thanks for pointing me the name.

@Sleuthgames 30 years ago is December, 1979. I doubt that bitmap font creators existed before the 80's…

I pressed Submit once, but it got sent twice…

Comment by BWM 19th December 2019

@BWM 30 years ago is actually 1989

Comment by L-7 19th December 2019

@L-7 What I meant to type. 1979 and 80's were both typos…

(Hope this doesn't send twice after I press Submit)

Bitmap font predate even the 2nd world war ;-)

Although not meant as such they could classify as bitmap fonts. Just look up some of Fre Cohen's work.

I revisited some of her works, also Jurriaan Schrofer made bitmap style typefaces in the early 60s

@BWM you mean that I'm not 47 old, and wasn't using OCP ART Studio on my CPC at 17-18 to design my own 8x8 font in 1989 ? Waouh, my entire life is maybe a lie. False memories.

The font under OCP Art Studio on Amstrad CPC. It was a pretty cool font editor, as part of this art software. There was no mouse, so you move the pointer with a joystick. I did slightly changes redesigning it here.

I never knew OCP Art Studio existed til now… *emberassed*

I've never saw an Amstrad CPC in person…

Comment by BWM 19th December 2019

If the OCP Art Studio manual is right, it is in fact, a font sample from this CPC software. I backup this font file with all my own font stuff. So, not my font orinally.
