This font is based on the word messy. Inspiration comes from paper being torn into small pieces, and the moment of chaos when work goes wrong and paper is ripped out of a sketchbook. The gradients are also not accurate in order to vaguely represent how shadows form on crumpled paper. The font was drawn freehand to begin and is designed to be used decoratively for headers. This font could be used for an art club poster.

Letter spacing!

Comment by Frodo7 24th october 2016

The shading adds dimension, looks good.  Frodo means that you can even out the letter spacing. Open the 'Preview' menu tab and move the slider in the 'Spacing' box. Type something into the top panel in 'Preview' to check the spacing.

If some spaces are still uneven you need to adjust the pixel space after those letters: open 'Menu'>'View'>'Letter width' to move the thick green line on the right to 1 blank pixel past the furthest pixel of the chosen letter. Make sure you have this 1 blank pixel after every letter and check in 'Preview'. If it looks too crowded readjust the global spacing in the 'Preview'  again.

Thanks all for the advice, this is my first time using fontstruct so hopefully this font will evolve over time.
