This typeface is inspired from motif of Nusa Tenggara Timur’s handmade woven fabric. Weaving has been a traditional legacy for generations since the 3rd century. Nusa Tenggara Timur is one of Indonesia’s province. Woven fabric is made by women for two purposes, as main source of livelihood and as a pastime after working in the fields. It is made by pure cotton and spun with traditional tools. Cotton is harvested from village gardens. After spun, the yarn is dipped into natural dyes. The natural dyes made from tree roots and some are using foliage. But most of all is process meditate and seek inspiration by praying to the ancestors in order to get a motif or pattern to be used, but it is believed to expedite the process of weaving and refused reinforcements during the weaving process is done.
