Yay! home-made paper-cut valentines!

That had been my thought when I designed it but I was unsure if it would be as obvious as I saw it in my mind. Thanks fugtiveglue :D
I need advice please:
how to increase the word space and line height. I had to hit 'space' and 'enter' more than once to get the text looking right :|

A lovely thought and a lovely font :)

For Word Space: Go to 'space' (between lower case and numbers) and then open Advanced/View/Letter Width. Set the space, by trial and error, checking it in Preview.

Sorry, can't help with line height.

Thanks p2p, I'll check that this evening! I just had time to change the inner edges of the "E" on the two latin sets I made.

@ p2p: I changed the 'space' and it looks good now. But I still find the line spacing unsatisfactory. I hope people don't mind using the 'enter' at least twice.
BTW I now added more small letters as well as some punctuation to give additional heart-y deco.

;) my reply to fugitiveglue, after making the adjustments suggested by p2p

@Aeolien - In order to add more space between letters vertically, you could raise all characters above the baseline by the same amount.

For example: if your characters are 12 pixels tall, you can add a 1/2 vertical space by simply raising each character up by 6 pixels above the baseline line. To get a full character height between lines of text, you would raise them 12 pixels above the baseline. In this way, you are adding in the needed space between characters.

Of course, most word processors and many image programs let you adjust the vertical spacing as needed for text, but when using simple programs, the only other alternative is to type out each line of text -- one at a time -- and manually arrange them in your image program.

Hopefully, Rob will add a "Global Height Adjustment" in the next major update to FontStruct. That way, you can add space above your characters with a single Global Height Line, as opposed to the way described above (placing the space between the characters and the baseline).

Sorry, no idea what happened to the colour of that sample. Will redo it.

Meanwhile I'll explain:
following goatmeal's suggestion I lifted the first few glyphs above baseline. I tried this new baseline at just over 50% of the original glyph height(where the "A" incision lies).
For the last letters in the alphabet I lowered glyphs, to end on that previous new baseline, giving me just under 50% below the original baseline.
As you can see: with a single "enter" the glyphs in each of theese 3 baseline positions overlap.

The large block is made by using the letters of the first 3 examples, keeping the baseline as in the samples.
There is a definite 'space' between each of the sets that use a different baseline.

I'll try the idea of the 100% above original baseline, but I don't have much hope that it will space as it 'should'.
However, text on different lines is possible by hitting that "enter" key at least 3x to get some reasonable line spacing. I'm sure nobody would mind having to do that ;)
Maybethe improvements being worked on now, will help with this linespace problem.
Thanks, goatmeal, for those ideas.

What about making the vertical line character | longer?

Please don't download yet, I'll be experimenting with the vertical height that Yautia suggested...

I just changed some positioning problems.
So far no luck with the height :/
