A font that is just about legible when characters are 5px tall (although the lower-case needs some work). It also looks sort of OK at larger sizes.

Why aren't there descenders?
The font should have some letters going below the baseline.

Those letters are g j p q y. And try to fix the tall a and e and short i and j. For the i, j you can probably bring the main stem all the way up to where the dot is, and put a new dot higher. Also make the w wider.

I think to make this font legible at small sizes, these are the changes that need to be made.

Sorry if I've been too harsh.

It has the makings of a good font. 8/10. See my clone 3x5 {by djcsdy}.

@adl My intention was to make a font that can fit into 3×5 pixels. That’s why there are no descenders and the lower case is generally very weird.

oh ok. Well, i still think you should consider my a e M W m w and other characters. I also think the x height should be 4.

I’m inclined to agree about the x-height, and some of your characters are definitely better than mine. I’ll have another play with it shortly.

There we go, I made some changes, mainly to the lower case. I’m happier with it than it was, but there’s still work to do. Thanks adl for the suggestions.

At pixel size, now a is too similar to o.

Wow! Better! but I agree with @riccard0. The a should be two-storey.
Comment by Agent Demonic Ladybug 2nd january 2012
OK, I’ve changed the lower-case ‘a’ back to two-storey, with a similar design to 'e' and 'g'. Thanks again for the comments :).
