Wait... what? Was the composite size limit lifted entirely or something? How could I miss that!?

On another note, I'm still limited to 4x4... caching issue perhaps?

I'm not sure how this was done and I’d be interested to know.

The composite limit is still there. Composites of more than 4x4 are not supported. The limit is arbritrary, but the rationale behind it is to discourage people from making glyphs that are too complex for other parts of the FontStruct software too handle.

It's probably something to do with the browser's Inspect tool... Hope it inspires you or something... "If you reemove rhe fs_menu_item_disabled, it allows you to create composites larger than the 16 brick limit... You can do the same thing with the filters...
