Unstable is based on the effect made when paper is burned to reveal layers and uneven edges. My original idea was to look at what happens to materials as they endure the process of burning. This evolved to looking at what remains of the material when it looks to be on the precipice of collapse. This resulted in letterforms that are quite dramatic with aspects of deterioration and roughness overshadowing the structure. Shading also adds texture and makes it more visually engaging. It could have a variety of applications including use in the horror genre, video games and grunge apparel.
