Most netlabels have a big chunk of their catalog licensed under Creative Commons, just like these font typefaces, so check it out. Here's a great US netlabel to start off with: Dobox Recordings

Wow. It'll take me a while to have this many characters in my font (has about 350).

That's quite a lot, Raymie! Keep at it. I've learned a lot about the different letters of different languages while filling this typeface up.

I can't do some of the more complex languages without support additions. All I get is the Apple filler on OS X.

(In some cases, Lucida Grande steps in for Arial when there's no Arial glyph to display.)

yeah, that sounds right to me. I've noticed that there are some characters that I've drawn that show up in the character palette now. :) Pretty cool. You can actually download the official Unicode character maps for cross reference at http://www.unicode.org/charts/

congratulations on so many characters. I have 350 but other letters in the other languages are not visible :( I really want to create a lot of characters!

BTW: 10/10 on making an extremely large font that is also not just made out of the square brick and have you made all the characters available on Fontstruct?

I give it a 10/10 for the amount of characters in the font. I am currently working on my font, which doesn't even have 100.

thank you! I admit I went a little OCD once I got the hang of the fontstruct tools. I've been making fonts for over 15 years, so it was easy to see how these tools were optimized to be intuitive and fun. If you're curious about the alternative, check out http://fontforge.sourceforge.net/ ... FontForge is an excellent tool that will go as deeeep as you can stand. :) I promise you'll be back here, though. FontForge has excellent depth, but is a professional grade Unix tool. For example, using FontForge, I produced one new font in 2 years, whereas I'm working on 3 new typefaces in ~1 month, one of which has 1000+ characters. So yeah, I'm digging fontstruct, bigtime!

hi steve. thanks for your commentaries to sencilla, my first font. I'm 24 years old, I'm peruvian. I started my design studies at Argentina but know in my country I'm searching a typography teacher. I didn't found it so my teachers are books, blogs and my own experience drawing letters. I've designed a few but sencilla is my first font. It's great to be in a race with you. But my first interest it's to become a good peruvian typographer.
