Sadly I have decided to change my default licence setting to 'No Derivatives'.
Previously I have always thought that my work doesn't really matter too much ... it's 'only' a hobby after all. But it is one to which I devote a considerable measure of time, care and attention. My decision to allow my fonts to be cloned was based on a wish to be able to help newcomers to see how I had attempted to address various problems ... and in case anyone felt that they could contribute something to improve a design.
In the light of recent events I no longer feel happy with allowing my work to be cloned by those who merely wish to rename it and then pass it off as their own.
I admire your fonts and admire your ability to explore all possibilities a particular design presents. Well done, typographer; exceptionally well done, hobbyist. :-)
A wise decision. I think it is very generous if someone permits cloning his/her precious work and let others to take a closer look and learn some new tricks. However, cloning could also make some others mentally lazy, not to invent anything by themselves. And the worst case, what you've mentioned, is absolutely against the whole concept of FS: build your own font from bricks in no time.
