do-oh is a display typeface inspired by the word 'squishy'.
I looked at squishing and the movement of squishing something hard and soft and the different forms it would take; I became interested in how an object changes form when squished but how it retains sections of the previous form too but slightly distorted.
I was also interested in the different ways of squishing something and how that changed the outcome.
The typeface is focused on shapes made when I created letters from squashing dough together.
This is a cloneDeco_ a custom type-face heavily inspired by the Art Deco art style in a 'blocky' style. Made up of various blocks this font was a masterpiece put together with the help of many tea's and coffee during the early weekday mornings. This font is really just useful for Titles.
I have created this font using the word "destructive" as a theme. After experimenting with a number of ideas I created this font by cutting it out of card in a distressed way, then projecting light through it on the wall, photographing the results and recreating the result in fontstruct. I feel as if my font could be used for a number of different things such posters or advertisement for art or music event.
