This is my first published font. I was trying to create an illusional and moving effect with simple and sharp blocks. Please feel free to leave comments and feedback!

As part of a project for my graphic design course at UWE, our brief was to create a typeface based on a theme. I chose vibration as my theme as I explored my theme I was drawn to line graphs which help record the frequency of sounds. I wanted my typeface to resemble this like it was on an ECG monitor. I also looked at John Skelton’s pinpression typeface which truly inspired my font, having continuous lines connecting all of the characters was very important and finding his work showed me that it was possible. This is my first attempt at creating a typeface and there are still alterations that need to be done.

First year UWE student. Our task was to create a typeface based on a chosen word. I picked 'energy' and went on to look at concept art and power stations and all things radiating.

Lemiscus is a display typeface created for the module 'Communicating with words' at UWE, inspired by the word 'ornate'. Initial research led me to design a typeface where each letter is arranged from a single length of ribbon (although I have had to break this rule for some punctuation). I laid the ribbon out into the shape of each letterform and copied every angle on Fontstruct to get it just right.
Due to us UWE students overwhelming the Fontstruct servers tonight, I can’t edit my Fontstruction any more right now, but I should have all those little out of place bits and bobs nice and tidy in the next week.
Best viewed zoomed in slightly.

Second attempt at full fontstruction.
Inspired by word 'ornate' and lace patterns.

First fontstruction. Based on initial ideas for UWE project (theme: ornate), and church decoration.

By researching the meaning of chaos, I came across the chaos theory, which describes the movement of unpredictability. My font is based on a diagram that explains the movement of chaotic systems. The design of the typeface is based upon helvetica, a clearly legible font over which i added the circular movement seen from the diagram.
My typeface has an element of fun and could be used to promote a relaxing product or experience by using a contrasting idea; chaos. It could also be used to promote electronic music; record labels, album covers, in particular rave or club nights.
This typeface literally causes havoc with your systems; for a more usable, bolder version try Tangle.

This is a display font that i have designed during the first term of my Graphic Design degree at UWE Bristol. I started with the word chaos, where i looked into propaganda posters, the breaking of objects and ordered lettering.
so using the idea of breaking apart text and overlaying outlines of a the font I created a visual chaos.
I believe that the font could be used in promotional posters and other advertising pieces.
All feedback is appreciated! This is a clone

This is my first attempt to use fontstruct, which is a project given to me during my first year of studying graphic design at UWE; Bristol.
Initially the typeface was inspired by the product of organic decay. I cut out strawberries, apples and tomatoes in the shape of letters and left them to decay on a sheet of paper. When removing them, they left an interesting stained mark on the paper which I used as my basis for the letter forms. Latterly I have used the typeface "Hobo Std" as inspiration because of it's curvaceous body and similarity to the remaining marks of the fruit and vegetables. It is a display font having because of it's better readability on larger sizes. This due to the stained effect as well as the letters are bold. This is a clone

Influenced by shattered glass and the idea of 'ordered chaos', I created a type that would appear to be both legible and illegible. Looking at certain geometric shapes I focussed on how a letter could be 'pulled' apart into something completely different and chaotic.

My typeface was inspired by the idea of squishy warm candle wax. I melted wax onto alphabet fridge magnets then copied them into Frontstruct. This was a very lengthy process which too weeks to create, however I am happy with the final design.

This is a font that i have designed and created as part of a project given in the first term of my first year doing Graphic Design at UWE. The initial theme for my project was "Decay" where I researched different types of rotting, erosion and decay of quality in every day objects. I then came to look at crumbling brick walls and developed my font from there. I've tried to show a lack in defined edges and emphasise a crumbled, smudgey typeface. I think it could be used as a relatively playful font, but could have strong impact if used for communicating the idea of decay or decompositon. This is a bold font, meant to be used big! Feel free to comment or discuss !
