This is my first typeface, it is based around the theme of "fluid". I was initially inspired by foreign alphabets/symbols/logograms. In particular, Arabic characters in a Chinese calligraphic style. While this start point could have lead to more experimental outcomes, I have chosen to keep the look simple so that it would be more versatile.

'Repertor' is a display typeface inspired by hand-rendered calligraphy and brush stroke textures. The typeface evolved from exploring physical properties of my starting theme 'motion' and combining this with nautical elements, mostly found close to Bristol Harbour - the name 'Repertor' has been taken from a Thames sailing barge. This is a clone

For the FS script competition I tried to copy my efforts at calligraphy with a goose quill. I have added more diacritics, punctuation & symbols.

My personal handwriting when i use Felt tip calligraphy pens (the cheap ones) as my daily writing pen, These are the most common letters I write with, there are many other variants, but the forms i chose worked best on Fontstruct. There are Numbers (and maybe other language writing systems like Cyrillic, Katakana, Hiragana.

Just a quick, pixellated uncial calligraphy font. Nothing special about it.

Little experiment of mine, trying to design a script font that really connects all the letters. As you might guess from the quality of the uppercase, I started with lowercase and had quite some trouble finishing the uppercase... And I know there are (obviously) always the connection strokes peaking out at the end any word, but funnily this imperfect look has started to grow on me during the fontstructing.
I also know there are still lots and lots of inconsistencies and letters that badly need a rework, but I thought the constructive criticism of my fellow fonstructors might be more helpful and efficient at improving this... So I'm grateful for any suggestions!:)
Oh, and yes: The kerning is very painful at times, but I can't see how I can improve that under the constraints of the script and the character forms. And obviously the script thing doesn't work with uppercase only text.

This is my second fontstruction for a project during the first term of my study in Graphic Design at UWE.
I have based this typeface on a similar (un-named) font that has been found in a Typefounders Catalogue dated before 1955, I really liked a lot of the ornate qualities and decided to bring this forgotten typeface into the modern day by replicating features of it through this digital medium.
