Electrical Energy has opened the doors to whole new worlds of creativity, specifically when it comes to computer technology. The whole concept of video games and computer programming is something we wouldnt have dreamt of being able to do hundreds of years ago. With computer technology getting more advanced everyday, I find it astonishing to see what we have achieved since the very first computers and computer games, and it is mind boggling to think what we may be capable of doing in the future.

A pretty simple fontstruction on its own. It only comes to life when layered with other fontstructions from the Institutional family (Elements is available now with further additions coming soon); see samples. This fontstructions attempts to further two quests: to have a font almost completely solid (without sacrificing legibility, i.e.) and to find new ways pixel-level coloring without coloring each pixel.
Disclaimer: No attempt is made to copy/reproduce any existing type design or coloring technique. Any resemblance to existing fonts or fontstructions or coloring technique is purely coincidental and displays the designers inability to unlearn intentional or accidental knowledge gained in the past, either visual or technical.

Underline is my font for the UWE brief, Communicating with Words. Using minimalistic lines to represent cropped parts of the London Underground tube map running through the letters. This is a clone

An alphabet worthy of Q*bert; he could successfully complete each letter and number designed here as an individual game board. The punctuation, however, is another story...

I finally got around to upgrading Strata Blocks. I wasn't very happy with the lowercase letters, which could not show a full gradation (unless they had ascenders). And I felt that many characters could be improved, too. The result is Strata Blocks Caps, which boasts a full set of Basic Latin and More Latin characters. This is a clone of Strata Dots Caps

A Decorative Drop cap font influenced by children's blocks. Its large noticeable capitals make it suitable for posters and book covers. Each capital has its own unique boarder which gives the typeface a strong sense of playful variety. The simple lower case letters uses shadows to create a basic outline for the letter forms, but forces the viewers eyes to fill in the blanks.

It has taken me several months to be sure that I want to release this, but I have decided to release it. I may in the future make a version with lower case and other characters but at this point I feel like I should just leave it.
Anyway blueprint is a huge font which very cyberspacy and it's a one of a kind.

Typeface initially based on the theme of decay, getting inspiration from the look of old, rotten, decayed wood. Created for my first year project at UWE Bristol, and my first fontstruction.

“The process is a little reminiscent of Tetris, but without the overwhelming feeling that sets in when the pieces start dropping at an impossibly rapid pace.”
Yes! Fun and addictive like Tetris.
Tetrisyde is entirely made up of Tetris blocks. (The preview may be a little off due to scaling, but trust me, they're there. You might get a better view by scrolling in increments.) This font is inspired by the above quote from ReadyMade magazine and Stephen Coles' comment on FontStructions inspired by Tetris. Enjoy!

A combination of blackletter and building blocks. Inspired by little kid's blocks. Descenders on A,H,K,N,R are meant to be there, I felt like adding them. :) This is also my first attempt at blackletter.

A blocky font, best used in ONLY UPPERCASE or ONLY lowercase. I still think it looks funky weird when I do uppercase and lowercase at the same time.
Also best used large-sized, not Pixel base.
If you have any recommendation on how to make some characters that are missing, or some other characters that you think look a bit wonky, a comment is appreciated ~

Ive used very geometric shapes to create this sharp, dynamic font that I hope to create a family of alternatives for.

Pop and lock. Uppercase and lowercase letters enjoy playing nice with one another. Like loose couples at a swingers club, let them run amuck and get dirty.

Clone of Orica.
It was barely more fun to destroy it than creating it :)
For the destroyed version, only upper case and numerals!
greets from neo :)

The Playtime Family. A product of being completely snowed in all weekend and spending a lot of time playing blocks and legos with the kid. Even when I'm not fontstructing I'm still playing with bricks. This is a clone of Playtime Rounded

This was more of a test in using a lot of brick stacking, made popular by Williaum, and combining them with widened bricks. Each letter is a single lego brick just for simplicity's sake. Happy 50th Birthday to Lego.
062715. Nudged edges for better spacing.
