dm 04 This is the 20000th FontStruction! meek, you must be proud. Your website, up to 20000 fonts! I have been working on this for months and I believe it to be my most advanced work yet. Yes, my avatar was made with this a. Also, it's clonable. I originally made this work under adl, but I left the account. So I got to do the very exciting task of having two fontstructor windows open at once and transferring the font from adl to demonics glyph by glyph. Oh, and I forgot to paste djnippa's tool in there first, so now I have hundreds of composites lying around in no order whatsoever. Silly me. Wow, S v y are ugly. I'll need to fix that. Well, that's that. Spacing is also a bit off and the font looks horrible in Word, for some unknown reason. I'll work on that issue. I'm proud of myself because this is my fourth attempt at a large-scale faux bezier font and it might just work. Lastly, the font's name progressed like this over the 6+ months I've been working on New Humanist: New Humanist Rounded New Humanist Bold +new humanist bold dm New Humanist Just a fun fact. *Updated to 26 characters* I started this Fontstruction with a blank canvas and blank mind, and decided to draw my phone (guess which one that is!) to just warm up. Before I knew it, the idea for the whole design was staring me right in the face. Hopping around the internet, looking for images and information on which phones to draw was great fun. Who knew that the first ‘personal communicator’ was the IBM South Bell Simon, which combined the features of a mobile phone, a pager, a PDA, and a fax machine. Yes, you read that right! The Simon was also nine inches tall.

The ultra-low resolution of this grid may be difficult to grasp without cloning. Fontstruct’s logo has a nominal x-height of 3 bricks, by comparison.

The level of detail, control, and finesse possible in a given fonstruction depended mostly on resolution prior to the recent advent of stackable composites. Did you want it better? Make it bigger!

Instead of building individual glyphs hundreds of bricks tall, stackable composites allow us to design rich modular schemata hundreds of bricks deep. Using curved bricks at their largest scale, linear and curvilinear elements dynamically harmonize and oppose. As well, screen fonts can be effectively hinted (aside from notable lack of kerning controls) without sacrificing the integrity of joins and intersections. And the trapping possibilities, Oh the sweet sweet trapping possibilities...

a 2x2 brick size font.///////////////// I had fun playing around with this font, espacialy small details which are hardly noticeable: diatrics, odd lenght angles, compromise the design itself of a glyph with kerning and aspect ration with the rest of the alphabet. well fell free to spot me anything non-harmonized. ////////////////////////////////////// 2x2 brick size VS 67.5° angles... I create bricks which can overlape the regular one on half of it... so it offer the possibilities to make odd size angle glyphs like v y, etc. Dont' know if somebody else did it before there is so many fonts now in FS, so it's hard top follow everything.

A glyph made with glyphs, I dreamed this image and I could not take it off of my mind untill I've crafted this that you see. It's a little joke about the matrix of our creations... and now it lives in FS.

A sort of blackletter with no historical references. 0 is meant for layering of the drop-caps. It needs extended latin characters and diacritics, but you can typeset Latin with it! :-)

Loosely based on the custom lettering I did for my DINOSAUR logo (http://www.thedinosaur.ca). I wanted to make an old-school compressed gothic that didn't look like it was made in fontstruct. Could be good for movie poster credits.

A font based on my handwriting. This took ages to make (but was a good relaxant from all my studies cuz now is exam period >.<). It came as a surprise how grotesque my handwriting was -- in all meanings of the word. BTW (in case you didn't know) the name is derived from the word 'ambidextrous'.
