Regarding the errors you're having, there might be a naming conflict. You could try calling this "MS Sans Serif Pix" or something similar. Another option is to edit the downloaded .ttf before installing it, so that it is recognized by the system as a different name while still showing up in menus as "MS Sans Serif".
