Trying my hand at another movie logo font, inspired by the terrific posters for 1981's "Escape From New York". Kern at your own peril.

Still don't know enough to proofread... :^(
Movie classic, font gold!
well done...
@Sed4tives - Thank you for the kind words. :^)
Brilliant.
@thalamic - Thank you! :^)
Are you sure that's the colors? It's painful looking at red and blu at the same time
nice work anyway
@JingYo - Thank you. The red isn't bad -- I used the same color from a fan-made logo, similar to the posters -- but the blue was my choice... Probably not the best against the black background. :^\
I'll try this again; third time's the charm? (Sure could use that Sample Edit feature about right now...) ;^)
Whoa! So cool!!
@Wataru Aiso - Thank you! :^)
Well done Goatmeal. I think I've tried to do the same somewhere. I've never watched the movie but remember it was a popular Kurt Russel film when it came out. Robert Rodriguez will be directing a remake.
Do you remember the original font's name? Couldn't find it and its just going to keep bothering me.
@geneus1 - Thanks for the kind words, Gene! It looks like the original was found in a 1976 Lettergraphics catalog ("Checkmate"), but there are versions by Castcraft, Brendel, and SoftMaker ("Cornered"). Canada Type's "Gamer" has flat 45° angles in place of the rounded corners.
I only quickly looked at a few images on-line to see if anyone else had made this font -- at the time, the only one I found ("Gamer") had flat corners, so I tried my hand at expanding the typeface by using just the poster's letters alone, so this is not based on any of the other fonts mentioned above...
Great Job! The new sample is definitely nicer than the old one, 10/10
@FTrex - Thanks! :^)
"I heard you were dead." "I thought you'd be taller." =)
