Reserved font name "Vertalics" (previously known as "Chicken Scratches") was created by and is Copyright Doug Peters 2018, and released as freeware under the SIL Open Font License. It is currently a limited character set novelty font and would require a lot of time and patience to develop it beyond that because of the nature of its design. You are welcome to carry on the work on your own, though I would like credit for the concept, initial design and the working start on it.

You'll have to increase the preview size in order to see this one correctly in the font preview window.
Though I had big plans for this one, there are some rather unusual challenges associated with it, so I don't think it will ever amount to more than a simple novelty font with a limited character set.
Should I fix the A, M, V, W, X, Y & Z, make them lean a bit, like the others?
OK, after looking at it and realizing it needed to be done I suppose it was a dumb question.
The A is done, I'll get the others, eventually.
I liked the old way better.
@jongrover... Darn. I wonder if I saved the older version. I'll look. I did go in and kern all of the lowercase alphaphet combinations, for the ones that needed it.
OK, this project wound-up leading to several others that I am still working on. But it is a nice start, if anyone wants to finish it (it's cloneable just use a different font name for the derivative and keep it on the SIL Open Font License).
That said, it gave me ideas about how to construct a few things, and playing around with them, I wound-up creating a couple of fonts that I am pursuing.
I still like the idea behind this one, but it is challenging. I will probably finish it someday, but right now there is just too much going on...
