This typeface was based on the theme of 'compression'. For this theme I wanted to give the impression of the letters being squashed into a small, confined space. To achieve this I started with an 8x8 grid and designed each letter according to the set size. I found this challenging at first because I soon realised that by using a small grid I had limited myself with what I could produce. However, I feel that by sticking to my grid rule I have been successful in creating a simple but effective typeface.
