@Noah: Lilliput Steps is smaller [and I cannot see the related steps (on MyFonts in 2018, even on Dafont)]…

These steps have actually more to do with a checkered dithering, i.e. a gray hue at distance (or at 1:1 size)… Besides, this reminds us of how the ClearType renders on 'B/W' (desaturated) screens: 01(row1) + 10(row2) ~ 11 (rows1&2, bit-wise).
I do not think this design / trick is unique, but this subtle touch is nice (even more in knitting, I guess)…
