  • This font is based off the short-lived “Chariot Race”/"Leaders of the World" alphanumeric display that was located on the top of Normandie Hotel in New York City between 1910-1912, before being destroyed in a wind storm. It didn't even last 2 years.

Many characters are approximates - very few images exist of this display due to how short lived it was, albeit from a few postcards, and that was about it.

It used an astronomical, incomprehensible amount of power (600 horsepower) required to run all these 20000+ bulbs, was really, REALLY inefficient, and had since been superseded by news tickers in the 1920s and 30s.

The character glyphs are mainly based off an image depicting text about Colonel Roosevelt.

The video explaining it is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0KZXsZWP0E

If there are any issues with this font please let me know and I will fix them ASAP.
