Very good arrangement of the dots, you have made the curves and circles very attractive. It's a beautiful font for message boards, shop signs and other panels that have to be seen from a distance.

Congratulations! FontStruct Staff have deemed your FontStruction worthy of special mention. “Chrysalide Serif Old” is now a Top Pick.

Any plans for Umlauts?

Comment by Rob Meek (meek) 14th april 2017

Congratulations on the TopPick :)

Comment by Aeolien 15th april 2017

@Rob Meek: thanks for the Top Pick. Adding diacritics for me is not a priority yet. I make all my finished fonts open so they can be supplemented with symbols of other languages. In the font isn't quite important typographic characters (& for example).

@Aeolien: thank you very much for your support.

I like the Easter eggs, I hope you have a good Easter time :)

How have I not seen this incredible work of art? The amount of playfulness and old-world charm in each glyph is unreal!... A perfectly executed dot-face by an extremely talented fontStructor :-)

Many thanks, ETHproductions.

In Russia, not all designers are professional enough, as a result, the Segoe font is used in the national currency.

Comment by Dmitriy Sychiov (Sychoff) 25th october 2017

Well, I'm glad that you are here and experiment with different glyph shapes. You have a progressive mind and bring changes. People will "wake up" to new styles  - or they are taught to appreciate and use them. It will happen  :)

Comment by Aeolien 25th october 2017

@Aeolien: If you discuss it seriously, this concerns not only me, but many other fontstructors. Fontstruct is a place for experiments (fonts, many of which will never be used) and should not be taken seriously by the number of downloads. But I'd really like to be able to download open font without registration.

@ETHproductions: you are the king of TP! Thanks for the changes in "fs lost". But think about the shape of M, it can be done in a form as merlon of the Kremlin.

Comment by Dmitriy Sychiov (Sychoff) 26th october 2017

Haha, that's an interesting way to describe it :-) Was this about what you were thinking of?

Comment by ETHproductions 26th october 2017

Yeah, would be cool if you'll add it to the font)

Correctly this element is called a dovetail (I don't know if in English the proper term for this form). It was used in old russian serif fonts on the ends of small ф.

Comment by Dmitriy Sychiov (Sychoff) 26th october 2017

Done! Thanks for the help :)

I don't think dovetail is the correct English term for this element, as in English it usually describes a shape similar to the one shown in this logo (like a rectangle with one edge a bit longer than the one opposite). I don't have any better term for it though...

Comment by ETHproductions 26th october 2017

Cool! I could call this 'progressive' while it is actually inspired by medieval typography. The amount of playfulness in this one is pleasing to the eye :)
